I bought a backup/emergency phone that's just like the one I already had. Wi-Fi connection, no SIM card.

How do I download my apps from my Android store account on the new phone?

I have my contacts installed.

Thank you

As long as you're using the same Google account, you can open the Play Store, look for the apps you had on the other phone, and install them from there. You wouldn't have to re-purchase any apps.

Did you already set up this backup phone? If not, then in the setup wizard, there should be an option to restore from a previous phone's backup -- assuming you had backup turned on for your primary phone, that should show up. If you select that, then the apps should install automatically during setup.

I'll look for the setup wizard. I didn't realize there was one.
Thank you

Since I may have missed it when I powered up the first time..... I'll do a factory reset and look for that.
Thank you

I guess I didn't have backups saved. I can do that, but it gave me a choice to use a USB. Cable to transfer data from the old to the new phone. I didn't know what will be quicker, or better to do.

USB cable transfer will probably be faster and more complete, so do that.

Okay. Thank you. FWIW ... It said the phone had to be idle for two hours and charged to backup data.

It's charged now, so I'll reset again and still at that point to use the cable. I'll check back later.
Thank you

Well, I didn't have a cable with a type C connector on both ends, solo...

Ok, those should be pretty inexpensive to buy, either at your local store (Best Buy, Target, Walmart, etc.) or Amazon.

I ordered two from Amazon. I can still go back and do it again, but all u apps came over, and are arranged in order on each screen very nicely.

Against my better judgement, I let it sync my apps. Just like over the past years... And why I asked about this several times ... Sync means synchronization. Well, that didn't occur correctly, again. Just like it never did before.

I have two Gmail accounts. I looked and the backup account for both is account "#2". That may be the problem.

Before, when sync wasn't allowed.
#1 had 1380 contacts and
#2 had 2466 contacts.

After sync
#1 now has 4481 contacts
#2 now has 2467 contacts

And I did the merge function. 500 had to be merged.

If there is a difference of 2014, that doesn't seem to be "synchronized.*

If I always add a new contact to #1, I want it to be added to #2 so both are identical, aka synchronized.

Never happened.

Like I say if both accounts backup to #2 and that's wrong, maybe there's the problem.

I have each account's contacts backed up before I tried it, again.
I can go back and restore each account and disable sync, but there must be a way to add any new contact to #1 and have it added to #2. Maybe not at it has NEVER happened in multiple attempts over several years with different configurations.

Otherwise, everything went very quickly and smoothly.
