So there is no option to trash all my junk mails in the deleted folder unlike in Bin folder. I have accumulated 999+ mails in All mails and Deleted folder but no option to clear them. Anyone know how to clear all those mails?

As you can see from screen shot, no trash all option in other than Bin folder.

Are you using the Email app or the Gmail app? The Gmail app has an Empty Trash option.

Which version of the Gmail app, on which phone? It doesn't look Material Design-y. The current Gmail app version is 5.0.2.

Stock Android 4.4.4 Kitkat on Moto E 1st Gen.
If you have a kitkat tablet or phone could you please check if the gmail app on your device shows you trash all option for all folders? Because its a pain ticking all the mails individually to delete.

The only non-Lollipop device I have access to is an old Droid Razr Maxx running Jellybean 4.1.2. But I'll check that when I get the chance.

Just checked my Razr Maxx. The appearance if the Gmail app is consistent with Material Design, so your screenshots suggest that your app version is older. I don't have a bin--I only have a Trash folder, and I can tap Menu to bring up an Empty Trash option.

I have the same problem as the OP. I have an M7 on 4.4.4 with Sprint. Not that it matters. (No way I will "upgrade" to Lollipop) But I do not see any way to delete the deleted mail folder or the junk folder. For now I have just been leaving those emails in those folders and letting Google worry about it. Would be nice though to have a solution.

I got what B. Diddy described.

Ok thanks so can i upgrade to Material Design Gmail without upgrading to Lollipop? Because i don't want Lollipop. Also another question is it possible to change the Gmail default White background to dark? It hurts the eyes at night looking at that bright white Gmail background.

Material Design should be part of the app itself--I don't think it's dependent on the OS. Just make sure Gmail is updated. If you never updated it before, it might not show up in the Installed list in your Google Play Store app. Search for Gmail in the Google Play Store app, and see if there is an Update button.
