Hello!Welcome to AC!
In settings choose factory reset this will erase all accounts on the device, don't factory reset in recovery as it will leave accounts still associated with you.
Correct in recovery it will ask to put password of the Google/Account of the device because it didn't delete it , where if you factory reset through settings it will ask an account you want to associate your device with then enter the email and passwordHello!
Now that I wasn't aware of? I hope this isn't "hijacking" the OP's post but it's rather topical to myself.
I'll spare the long story but due to a number of "issues" I've had to do a number of factory resets which I've done from recovery.
As all data on the phone is supposed to be deleted I still then have to sign in to my Google accounts as normal so is this not the same?
Apologies if this is a dumb question but I'm now confused![]()
Right, and thank you. I'm ageing with increasing memory issues so I don't always follow things as well as I used to which is why I need help sometimes.Correct in recovery it will ask to put password of the Google/Account of the device because it didn't delete it , where if you factory reset through settings it will ask an account you want to associate your device with then enter the email and password
No problem, you can ask anytimeRight, and thank you. I'm ageing with increasing memory issues so I don't always follow things as well as I used to which is why I need help sometimes.
So by resetting through phone settings rather than recovery, for all intents and purposes it's a "new" phone?
Also, if a backup is done through Smart Switch to external storage does that include any account data outside of app settings etc? I suspect not but would like to make sure.
Finally, is there any difference or benefit by removing accounts from the phone before resetting?
Thanks for helping with what might seem stupid questions but I want to get things right in my mind if I can.
