Hi Everyone

Year ago I registered samsung account to my phone using personal domain name email.

Now looking to factory reset my phone but domain name expired and obviously no access to that email.

What is my options?

Welcome to AC!
In settings choose factory reset this will erase all accounts on the device, don't factory reset in recovery as it will leave accounts still associated with you.
Hello!

Now that I wasn't aware of? I hope this isn't "hijacking" the OP's post but it's rather topical to myself.

I'll spare the long story but due to a number of "issues" I've had to do a number of factory resets which I've done from recovery.

As all data on the phone is supposed to be deleted I still then have to sign in to my Google accounts as normal so is this not the same?

Apologies if this is a dumb question but I'm now confused 🤔

Correct in recovery it will ask to put password of the Google/Account of the device because it didn't delete it , where if you factory reset through settings it will ask an account you want to associate your device with then enter the email and password

Right, and thank you. I'm ageing with increasing memory issues so I don't always follow things as well as I used to which is why I need help sometimes.

So by resetting through phone settings rather than recovery, for all intents and purposes it's a "new" phone?

Also, if a backup is done through Smart Switch to external storage does that include any account data outside of app settings etc? I suspect not but would like to make sure.

Finally, is there any difference or benefit by removing accounts from the phone before resetting?

Thanks for helping with what might seem stupid questions but I want to get things right in my mind if I can.

No problem, you can ask anytime

*It will Back up to smart switch account info that way it can authenticate you .

*Always do it through settings

If you do it before or during the settings factory reset it would be faster through settings factory reset as you would need to individual remove accounts

Screenshot provided how it looks with factory reset in settings and all the accounts will be eliminated.

Pictures back up to smart switch and Google photos, better to have duplicates in multiple places
