how to fix on a note 4 phone locked due to unisual reset.

my 79 year old mother doesnt remember her username and password to any of her accounts. Talkedthat the phone was hers they said that they would reset phone 2 weeks later get a email saying that it will cost 579 dollars because it needs a new screen mother board. the phone was working fine she loves the phone but not for 579 dollars any help.
