Android Central Question
A while ago I rooted my Galaxy S8 successfully without any problems. Later on after tweaking and playing with some stuff, I found my phone to be randomly restarting very frequently. This went on for a while until I decided to remove the root or unroot. I wasn't very experienced so I did something very stupid. I deleted a file named root. Now I know that the folder contains files needed to run the device and deleting does not simply unroot my device. The next thing I get an error message saying that the firmware was corrupt. I get another firmware image and flash the phone without erasing anything. And now a year later my phone keeps crashing, restarting and lagging. I know this is not due to the fact that phone is a bit old as my mother bought the same phone at the same time and has no issues. I am suspecting leftover or corrupt system files that are causing errors. So all I want to know is if there's a tool that can fix my phones firmware and hopefully return it to factory settings. And by that I mean no root whatsoever and the bootloader locked not unlocked. That is to access some apps and features that you cant with root. If anyone can help me with that ill be in debt forever. Thank you.
