How to fix screen lock replaced by a pop-up saying,"com.android.settings. have stopped"?

[Android Central Question]

Hello, I have a problem with my Samsung J2, its screen lock won't appear and is replaced by the only thing that appears is the pop up that said,"com.android.settings has stopped" then when i tap on the "Ok" button it just reappears again. I already tried everything that i can get from the internet, but nothing has worked. I also tried updating the systems using a method called "Samsung update ADB" but i think it didn't work. I'm honestly on a real dead end help me out guys specially those who uses the same phone as me. Please.

Try Safe Mode. Tell us if no go.

You tried factory reset?

Welcome to Android Central! It really helps if you tell us exactly what you've tried. "I already tried everything" usually means that you only tried everything that you know about -- but it makes it difficult for forum members to suggest anything, because they won't know if you've already tried that.
