How to fully disable the phone function?

Hi ppl!
I recently got a Sprint LG Optimus S, rooted it, flashed gROM 2.2 on it.
The problem is I live in Europe, so I don't use the phone function since its a CDMA phone (at least there is no CDMA coverage here where I am) so I was wondering..is there a way to disable all the phone functions..(mainly because I don't and cant use it, and to preserve power).
I basically use this phone as a gps device on my bike, music player etc..

Oh yeah..is there a way to enable flash on it? I tried gRom 2.2 and Your Mom Rom.

Yes sir, there is. Couple of things that would do the trick actually. You could flash a ZVH ROM on ZVD Baseband or you could turn on airplane mode (that might disable GPS and Bluetooth)..

I would look into flashing cm7 as it will let you enable airplane mode AND still connect to the Internet with wifi. There are a couple of different versions of flash floating in his forum that you can use on, I believe, any Optimus s rom.

I am not sure about gps and airplane mode though, gps without data for that matter as I believe most apps require data to load key bits to create a route.

Kravens cm7 is the current actively developed CM7 ROM (you'll have to downgrade basebands)

Downgrading is not necessary with the fact you don't want phone function any way

I have similar needs. I'm using HydroROM on my daily driver and I also use it for wifi adapter for my PC. I also have another running kravens cold as ice on another phone that doesn't have service.

I just enable airplane mode then turn wifi on. That way the radio is turned off but wifi still works

I wouldn't advise flashing a different baseband... network time wont work and your timestamps in apps will all be off even if you manually set date and time. I just turn airplane mode on and then re enable WiFi.

It actually worked (and is working) phenomenally .
CM7 Rules.

I don't like the airplane mode..I wanted to disable the phone functions fully and got that by installing CM7..and everyone's happy.
