How to get i to appear as I

[AC Question]

I recently changed phones from HTC M8 to Google Pixel and we are making friends most days! However, it drives me insane that when I am using the keyboard and type the letter 'i' on its own that it doesn't automatically change it to capital I. I have tried setting this as a personal dictionary change but that doesn't work. I have searched the internet for help and no luck. Any ideas?

Do you have auto correct on? If not, try turning it on. I have auto correct off because i hate seeing the stupid crap my phone thinks i mean instead and my i doesn't capitalize on its own unless it starts a sentence for me. It's something i live with.

Also, after typing i enough and selecting the suggested capitalized I, the phone may start correcting or at least suggesting it first.

What keyboard are you using? It would be a feature of the keyboard to recognize it and change it.
