How to Get rid of This Virus From My Phone?

I think I have some browser hijacker going on with my Galaxy S9. Every so often I get an alert saying network connection interrupted, a network change was detected, and then it open some random malware tab in Chrome. I can close the tab, but if I don't eventually there'll be more tabs.

I have cleared the Chrome cache and deleted cookies & site data, reboot, etc. and also installed Malwarebytes as well as AVG anti virus apps from the Google play store and those scans did not find anything.

What else can I do?

Does this only happen on wi-fi, or also on mobile data? The next time you see those messages, get some screenshots and show us here.

Yes, it happened on both wifi & data...same message. But then I restarted in safe mode for a while and it didn't come up, so I went back to normal mode and surprisingly it has not come back since. I don't know what it could have been. I'll be watching to see if it comes back.

If you are sble to take a pic, then open pic and look at properties, the source of the pic will be shown.
Then you know wherr it came from.
I had a similar alert screen and found out the source was a FM radio app I downloaded.

I'm not sure what you mean -- are you talking about taking a screenshot? That wouldn't tell you what app is responsible in the properties.

In some older Samsung devices the screenshot file is saved including the name of the app that it's active on the phone at that time. I think it doesn't work that way in more recent models though.

Oh ok. But that information would be the app that's in the screenshot, right? Based on the OP's description, it would simply be Chrome.

How about reset the device? Or use Kaspersky or CCleaner.

Did you just cleared the cache or the app data as well?

Yup, cleared Chrome cache & app data. I did install Avast Mobile Security although it didn't show anything in the scan.
