How to get rid of this

Sorry I am coming from an iPhone and am new to android over all. How do I get rid of this notification?

Not sure, sounds like you have something covering the top front of the phone.

It's really simple... Don't block the proximity sensor when the screen is on. I get it from time to time when I just randomly grab the phone at the top.

Settings>display> keep display from turning on. Turn that off.
