I have a local news station weather app which shows temperature at the top of the screen. There's also the time and temp displaying on the home screen. That temp is incorrect (see screenshot). I have spent alot of time going through settings, widgets, home screen settings, and even Google searches. I haven't found a way to get rid of the weather temp display.
Any suggestions I should try?

This should be in the app settings to where permissions are. Looks like they are overwriting on your phone or simply a notification setting needs to be adjusted. I've had this issue before and resolved it. One of the two factors is at play here.

App permissions is the one setting I didn't checked.
So I did go into permissions but couldn't locate a specific Google weather type app.

As far as I know the only way to remove the 'At a Glance' widget is using a third party launcher. I don't think there's a way to do that with the stock launcher.

Update to my second post.
Ok... So I went into Permissions and fiddled with a few app permissions that I thought would be relevant. Well miracles of miracles the temp no longer shows. I don't have a clue as to what I did to achieve that. I am clueless. I am with out clues.

Glad you found it.😉😊 You went to where I was probably talking about. I'm a storm chaser and I have about 10-14 different weather apps and stations on mine. Had the exact issue to arise from a local station myself.

Thanks for the suggestion of permissions. The issue seems to be from a Google service. Which one I don't know. I just wish I had followed my usual troubleshooting steps instead of a sort of scorched earth approach. Sometime in the future I might try to narrow down what it was I did to solve the issue. It might help those who are having the same.

Update #2: Crud... Temperature is back.
After extensive searching it doesn't look like there is a way to get rid of the temperature display on Home Screen.

Have you tried to go in the actual app itself and try to check your settings there. Maybe a push notification area that you can stop the temperature reading. Also, at this point I would do two things. Report or all for help in the app from their system administrator then try to use the setting for not allowing the app to run in the background. You can also look into alerts and uncheck those if applicable. If it's a local news station, I would stop the app and rely on another app for weather. Several of there paid and free to choose from.

Forgot to add. Try to clear the data on the app. Sometimes this will help to change the forecast. If it's pushed from their station then you may be stuck with their temp.

The app is the actual Google app, not a separate weather app.
I have the weather notifications turned off in the Google app (see screenshot).
In my searches I found that this is a common complaint.
I did send an email to Google support about this.

That's not good. I wished Google would not force us to every product they deem to help us. They do more harm. I've noticed lately that my news articles won't update. I go over to my Edge browser and see much more there. ..

I hope they can get back with you soon...
