How to get S-Off?

So I'm running ViperOne 1.8.0 with TWRP recovery. I'm trying to get S-Off so I can flash the new firmware on so I can update to ViperOne 2.0. I'm using firewater. I type in su at the proper time, but I don't get any request for superuser access on the phone itself. Any ideas?

Make a nand, flash back to stock and try it that way. I've heard of this and quite a few have said it did the trick.

So any stock release keys should do it? Then restore from the nand, update firmware, and then flash 2.0?

Yeah. Just make sure when you flash the firmware, in RUU mode, that you flash ir twice. Same command twice. Should set you up

Gotcha. The release keys I restored from does not have an insecure kernel apparently so I'm downloading insertcoin right now (although it's taking forever).

Finally got it fixed. Achieved S-off without insert coin, just had to play around with it a little bit. Was able to update the framework directly by copying to SD card, renaming it, and then updating from Hboot (FUU wasn't working for some reason, didn't feel like finding a fix). Dirty flashed ViperOne 2.0 and voila, everything is working!

After firewater told me that I made the mistake of receiving an OTA update from HTC, I went to this thread in order to find a proper nandroid backup for my device and I was able to locate one: COLLECTION of Stock backup's | HTC One (M8) | XDA Forum

I used Philz Touch Recovery to restore mine (ROM, firmware, recovery, etc.) and I was then able to successfully run firewater.
