Install the new official ICS, and then you have to open the SprintID App, choose My ID. This should give you stock ICS. Just like a GNex B-)

Re: Use Sprint ID to get stock ICS

What do you mean it will give you stock ICS just asking sorry.

Re: Use Sprint ID to get stock ICS

Basically it gets rid of Touchwiz entirely which is the stock launcher for most Samsung devices. You will then have the stock Android launcher which basically changes how the menu operates etc, try it out and if you don't like it just go back to SprintID and pick Samsung.

Omg thank you for this. It looks and feels so much nicer and smoother than Touchwiz. Is there any downside to this though?

Or go to applications and select all. Then go down to twlauncher and select it, scroll down and clear defaults. When you press the home button you can change to stock or touchwiz, or set stock ics to default like i did. This is in a video of qbking77 for the review of the one of the ics leaks.

Yeah i added this just by selecting "launcher" instead of "TW launcher" after i disabled Go Launcher. Pleasant surprise b/c in the pat it always launched TW anyway.

My question is how do you add more home screens on this one? Long press only brings up wallpapers, which is dumb, snag i can't seem to find anything in the settings.

Or if you don't want to mess with Sprint ID at all another way to do it is just go into Settings> application settings> All> then scroll down to TWLauncher and click "Clear Defaults" then when you hit the home button just select Launcher instead of TW Launcher.

Strange question but i had to ask how do you get the blue colored symbols in the notification bar and can it be done?

Dumb question - I noticed that I am not getting the annoying launcher message (choose between the 2 launchers) after the manual installation which I really do appreciate. When I look at twlauncher in applications it says it is chosen for some applications but when I look at SprintID it appears "current id pack" is running and below is "samsung" - so what is the "stock ICS". All I know is that it definitely is more responsive.

@giant jay, that was a great tip. I love Zeam Launcher and had lost it as the default when I did the upgrade. It worked perfectly. Loving ICS so far.

This is a welcomed change, but it would be nice to have a way/app that would allow one to hide unused apps. The only way I can do it is with most 3rd party launchers.

Yeah some more customization would be great, good thing you can still add folders to the home screen, otherwise I'd probably just download a third party launcher.

Sooo glad someone posted this :D stock ICS is amazing imo. Does this workaround include all of the folder and app drawer animations too?

What is better about the stock launcher? What do I gain? Lose?

I quickly tried it and didn't have time to reconfigure my phone. It loaded every app into the launcher. I currently have 1/4 of my total apps in one of the launcher desktops because I usually don't use them often. If I do need to use them I can go to the option to list all apps. It is an extra step but most apps aren't used frequently.

Can I remove the unused apps from one of the launcher desktops? Can I set a photo as my desktop background?

Now that I have the stock ICS launcher, I feel like I don't need to upgrade to the S3. The ICS launcher is so much nicer than the TW launcher even on the S3. Folder creation, moving around icons, adding shortcuts and widgets -- just less time consuming on with stock ICS.
