how to get the analog clock face to show up on locked screen

This morning during my commute, I did something to my phone to get a analog clock face to show up on the screen. I actually liked it but don't know what I did. When I double tapped it, it opened to the normal digital clock with the key pad to unlock the phone. What did I do and how do I do it again?

I'm thinking this has something to do with the quick circle case which I do not have. I still don't know what I did to get it to show up. Any ideas?

I had this happen with my G4 once also. The phone was lying on top of my LG tablet, which has the magnetic closure case. I think the G4 sensed the tablet case, and went into quick circle mode. I've tried multiple times to replicate it, with no luck. It looked really cool at the time tho!

that's exactly what I figured out. I had my money clip in my pocket which has a magnet on it.
