Not technically true. Zv4,Zv5 and Zv9 are all branches of zvd. But zvd itself is optimus s firmware. I actually got better service on zvd than Zv4,Zv 5 or Zv 9. I could help you buy I don't recommend doing it. Its risky if you don't do everything right. If you're looking for better service, I'd recommend using a hybrid prl. 61677 gave me better service

The sprint basebands do seem to get better service to me... It's not a process for someone who doesn't know what their doing though.. In other words don't do it unless you plan on doing proper research beforehand and backing up everything.

Yes. You can also run zvj. The process is pretty complicated though so if you do, contact either me, sammyz or wraith. Pretty sure we're the only three that have done it. If you decide not to, and just follow the guide, but still mess up, don't blame it on us when you lose all service or data.

Just make sure to get your AAA and HA keys written down and I like to make a qcn backup with qpst

I never looked back once I got it. My service feels faster and I can run every rom available for OV or OS using the zvd to zvj patch

First time I went to zvj Data didn't work at all. I had the 3G icon, it just wouldn't load anything.
Went back to zvj, and now it works fine. Wonder what I did wrong. xD I don't know, but I should Since I wrote the guide to get data working on zvj. May have been a vm network problem on that day.
