Z Fold 7 Cases

Looking for a thin case that does cover the hinge, but I don't want anything on the screen. Haven't had anything on my last four Sammy flagship S series phones. Also want magsafe. My regular charge stand in the office needs to get replaced. The back of the charger is too high and hits the camera lenses. Also I want to have the phone open. Magsafe can hold the phone in position even if opened up.

Probably best you can do currently is buy a full set and not use the front cover. Just got to find one where the hinge is not too bulky along with thin case. I think the one below would fit the bill best.

I don't want a bulky case to take away of the engineering put in to make this thing so thin and would like to rock it as thin as my S23U with a think LaterCase on it.

Being a first time Fold owner I am a bit concerned on how dust/water resistant this thing will be. There is probably a ton of engineering I don't know about that hopefully makes this a non issue but I 100% pocket carry I'd really like hinge protection just to keep lint and debris from possibility working its way into the hinge gap when carrying in pockets.

But I've decided to go with Pitaka and see how that works out. Hopefully after a couple of months of carrying I'll see it's a not a big deal. If I see lint and debris start building up at the hinges and having to constantly wipe the area clean, then I may have to think of other case for peace of mind.

With regard to the hinge I never had a problem with the 3,4,5, or 6, however I am typically not in a dusty environment and I don't think I ever used at the beach. I don't think sand is trouble for the hinge as much as it might damage the display by folding it with sand on the screen.

Same and that's why I think I'm going with this one:

I'm going to need to mortgage the house to pay for it but I think it's the most slim case I've seen yet that covers front frame, has strong magnet for magsafe and covers the hinge. Oh, and it has that Pitaka look that I really like. The only downside is covering the appearance of the phone itself.

Some may say the hinge doesn't need protection and maybe that's true, but it's just as much about having something to smooth out the feel when holding the Fold closed. I can't stand the sharp edges and it doesn't look as consistent in design.

They must be out of stock and holding off on freebees
I've not heard back either, but also not certain I would use that one anyway. I've used his cases through the years, starting with the S20U and I do think the quality has improved quite a bit.

I'm in Florida. I told myself that if I went to the beach, the phone stays closed. Sand could damage the screen when folded. It makes such a nice snap when you close it.

Thanks for the case recommendations. I had to give my wife my left testicle to get this phone. Hate to have to give the other one for a case.

Might have to settle for a good or decent one until the prices drop.

$40-50 Premium
$30-40 Good
$20-30 Decent
$10-20 OK
UNDER $10 Cheap

Currently there is no Fold 7 case with hinge protection that will work with any existing mag safe battery pack. Zero, nada, zilch. And, in fact, it's virtually impossible to design one. The solution lies with the battery pack manufacturers. They could easily make a battery pack with a rounded top that doesn't extend past the magnet ring. And I expect one is already in the works. Every single mag safe battery pack was designed for iPhones, which have a huge clearance between the cameras and the magnets. Why Samsung put them so close to each other is a mystery.

There's actually plenty of battery pack options but the design issue might be more related to when the Fold is open and the hinge protector is covering part of the phone between magnet and hinge protector.

If you go to the 9:35 Mark on this video you'll see some options that do not hit the camera lenses.

Pitaka blue case arrived. The battery banks still work but they sit crooked due to the camera bump.

Fits very tight but no front rail.

Very nice. I just got my ship confirmation email from Pitaka so looks like coming from China so hope I get mine by end of week.

You need to show pics without the battery pack :) I was afraid the battery pack won't fit straight but I guess as long as it can works rotated. :/

The lines look very tight and close along the edges of the case. In the Flossy video it looked like it fit very snugly into place and said probably didn't need to use the tap along the hinge where on other cases I've seen videos where if you don't use the tape, the side along the hinge will lift when pulling a magsafe device off the back.

Did you secure your case with the tape?
