How to go back to watch face (home) from the "Speak Now" screen?

This really bothers me. Is it just me or there really isn't a way and you gotta let the watch screen go to sleep->tap to see the time?

Swipe from the left side to the right just like if you were dismissing a notification.

Thanks! It makes perfect sense but for some reason it didn't work when I tried before I posted this question. I think I didn't start the swipe far enough.
