How to hide message content in notification center?

What is the best way or setting to hide chat/texts from a specific app in notification center? The setting should only show the message count or icon to notify that you have new messages.

When the notification comes in, long press it and a menu should pop up and there should be an option to hide notification.

Check the phone settings for the notifications. You probably have it set to "display all". You are looking for an option that is something like "hide private info".
On my phone this is at:
settings > sound and notifications > lock screen
Choice = hide sensitive only
