I have Gingerbread 2.3.6 on an AT&T phone. I want to hide or remove some pre-installed/system apps such as games I will never play. No jailbreaking.
My research says I must use an app to do it, but I don?t know which free one to get.

Thanks, stalemate1, but that option isn?t available.
If I go to settings - applications - all apps - find an app I don?t want - and click on it, there is no ?deactivate? anywhere. There are things such as Force stop, Cancel, Clear Data, Move to SD card, Clear cache, and Clear defaults.
