Re: [How-To] Install aospCMod7 2.3.4 (With Downloads of everythi
I got it to work.
This is what I did.
Go to settings, applications, manage applications, and go the all tab, find Google Services Framework. Force stop and clear data.
Go back to the all apps list, and find market and clear cache.
Then reboot.
Is there a reason to clear Google Services Framework Data? It seems clearing cache on Market alone, then reboot, fixes the problem. I had the problem occur again today though. And it always boils around Google Talk trying to Authenticate. The program never signs in but the password is correct, and telling "Talk" to sign out/disconnect or whatever makes the program end. But after rebooting the problem tends to come back. Has anyone managed to permanently eliminate this problem? Delete Talk.apk maybe?? hehehehehehehe... Btw, my Google Talk account works, I use the same account on my Android 3 Tablet.
Also, second question not as related. Does ClockworkMod clear the "partitions" in question before loading the ROM? Should I be worried about residual files from my stock rom? Should I "cat /dev/zero > /dev/mtd(?)"
Final Question... Virgin Mobile comes with a few of its own apps (which all suck, but I do have them all if someone needs them). One of them when is kinda needed to use their service is "SelfServiceAssistant_1.0.25.apk". It is the program installed in /system/app on the stock rom that adds the "Activate" button in programs. Its the program that provisions the phone to their service when you need to activate, change phone number, etc. In fact it installed without incident, but SSA crashes when the phone boots up and it can't be ran either. I was wondering if there is a missing kernel option, Android extension, etc that could cause this kind of issue. I would be willing to help with debugging this problem. I will provide a copy of SelfServiceAssistant_1.0.25.apk for anyone who wishes to look into the issue. For now, I'm keeping a copy of my Froyo 2.2.1 stock rom for activation reasons plus warranty... I backed up my factory recovery program as well. I figure, I'll slip it back on there with my stock rom and unroot that before I send my phone for warranty, if needed.
Alternative to the question above... How do you enter "Programming Mode"??? I've changed many many settings in many different phones, but in the past its always been a hidden menu accessed by some sequence on the dialer followed by "END" or the non-existent Option "0" on the settings menu, etc. Usually proceeded with a password prompt that is almost always "000000". Is there such a screen in Android OS, Phone BIOS Level, or a "program.apk", etc to access those settings... Or do I need to dig up a "Samsung Studio" equivalent for LG? Although, I really did like Samsung Studio. I managed to make a few phones USB Tether that the carrier set to not allow tether... That was fun.

I wonder if that program still works for Android Samsung Intercept, etc.
Now that the questions are over, I must admit, I'm a little new to this. However, the concept of flashing a device isn't anything new to me... I've used PROM Programmers, JTAG's, TFTP flash methods (used by VoIP devices, etc). Even bricked a device or two and was able to revive it again using TFTP (always fun lying to the ARP cache to make a computer believe a certain MAC is assigned to a specific IP since the bricked device isn't smart enough to at least DHCP (stupid engineers, lol)).
