How to leave phone speaker active for incoming calls while driving

I was wondering if you can leave the phone speaker on while driving so when an incoming call comes in and I answer it I do not need to turn on speaker mode.

Here is some background to my question, in my personal car I have a bluetooth speaker, I work a part time job moving vehicles for a rental car company and are in a different can very often. Whenever I receive a call I need to hold the phone up to my ear to talk and risk the chance of getting a ticket and a 125.00 fine for the first offense. If I could just have the speaker on and when a call comes in and I tap to answer the call comes over the speaker automatically.

If Bluetooth is connected, the sound should play through your car's stereo. I guess it depends on your setup. My car supports HPF (hands free calling) and there's a built in microphone, answer call button, and contacts syncing. Maybe check your system setup and or consider upgrading. I have an Alpine brand.

Yes in my personal vehicle it plays through my bluetooth but when working and switching between multiple vehicles I just have the phone in a cup holder and do not want to hold it up to my ear since in NJ it must be used hands free.

Have you tried some of the Apps listed in the article below? The Google Play Store has a few other options as well if you search for "auto speakerphone".....you could also try using a Bluetooth headset if you want to improve the call quality.

Have you considered getting a headset for calls? Not only would it solve the problem, but could make the overall call quality better on both ends depending on which headset you get.

At this point I plan to just carry my portable bluetooth speaker that I use in my Jeep with me on the days I work. Its only a part time job a few day a week to keep me busy and don't see the need to buy another accessory.

You can also buy a FM radio transmitter that plugs into the cigarette lighter and listen through FM radio. Great for old vehicles without AUX port or Bluetooth.

I don't think everyone understands why I am looking to do this:

1. I have a bluetooth connection in my personal car

2. I work part time moving different vehicles for a major rent a car company and do not have the time nor want to set up a FM transmitter every time I switch vehicles

3. Having the speaker on or come on as a call is received will allow me to talk without having to answer the call and then holding it up to my ear which is Illegal in NJ or looking at the phone to put it in speaker mode and the police are always cracking down here

I kind of doubt you'll find a software solution to this.

I'm not one that likes to buy extra hardware either.

So *if* you want to consider buying another accessory and want an all in one solution, maybe look into replacing your current speaker with one that would also accept calls? When a call comes in, you answer it via a button on the speaker, which should then act like a speakerphone.

The audio may be questionable depending on what's available. I've tried it making what amounts to a speakerphone call via my work truck's Bluetooth stereo and it was horrendous. I sounded like I was in a tin can 50' away to the other person, and they could hear themselves from being played back through the truck speakers.

The portable BT speaker was going to be my suggestion. And the BT headset was also a good suggestion, probably even better than the speaker. You can just put the headset on and leave it. No need to worry about transferring it from vehicle to vehicle. I have a Plantronics Voyager Pro that works very well with GS7
