how to lengthen time Lock screen stays on ?

How to lengthen time Lock screen stays on, as it can be a race of few seconds before it frustratingly shuts back off to the AOD?
I'd like to increase it to at least 30 seconds.
The screen timeout in the display settings is for the Home screen not the Lock screen (I already set the home screen timeout to 2 minutes from I think the originally set 30 seconds).

I just need a little more time for entering my PIN. If I make one mistake then it times out. Eventually, I will try the other log in methods which may be inherently faster. or not faster?

That's sort of weird. The screen shouldn't be timing out while you're interacting with it since the taps from typing should be registering. My lockscreen doesn't time out if I'm tapping on it.

I think it timing out while screen is idle for a bit, while I'm away from typing for a second or two.

So your basically just not opening it through and stopping typing in the middle. Ok.
