How to link Handcent to the default Messaging Icon?

Any way to keep the default messaging icon on my home screen but when i click on it Handcent opens? I like Handcent but am not a fan of their big blue handcent widget that replaces my default icon?

I did a forum search on here as well as a google search and just can't figure it out. I've gone to applications/all/messages and cant figure out how to make Handcent the default? I'm not rooted, just using a stock Evo 4g.

Any help would be great.

I was interested in doing this exact thing last year (with chomp sms and go sms)... but I don't think it is possible unrooted or rooted. Hopefully Im wrong... and someone will shine light on this

You can download Launcher Pro from the market and use it as your launcher. You will lose Sense but it allows you to use custom icons.

Folder Organizer allows icons for any app on the home screens to be changed plus a much better folder system than the stock android allows.

There are custom icon apps that allow you to do this. Go Launcher allows you to choose icons for each app.
