Kin Screen will let you wave your hand over the screen to turn it on, plus it has a bunch of other great feature well beyond that.

DriveMode has great driving features, including reading your texts to you and being able to respond in kind.

From the reviews, someone mentioned that when using Drivemode to send a reply by SMS it includes an ad in the text. I text for work a lot and can't have ads going out to clients. Is there an alternative?

I use Android Auto when I am driving. You don't have to have a car that runs it anymore. No adds and it is free.

You pay to remove that texting signature. I think that's the only thing paid gets you, and it's cheap. I tried android auto too and that's totally free so that's another option. I thought Drive Mode was better though. Very active developer and support as well.
