How to manually lock Moto G7 screen?

Hi, on my Moto G5+, I could use the fingerprint reader to manually lock the screen. On the G7, that doesn't seem to work, and I have to press the power key to lock the screen. Is there a way to enable the fingerprint lock?

There are apps that will lock the screen - if you root the phone. Quick Reboot Pro (fee) is one. You can put the screen lock widget from it on the screen. (That's how I usually lock mine.)
