How to mirror out the N8 display on USB-c?

Okay, got my parts to try to see if I can display the N8 onto a monitor. But, so far no luck. So, I assume there is something you need to do to enable mirror out of the usb-c connection?

After playing with various monitors, this is what I found works. HDMI input, check. VGA input check. Key is this monitor could accept higher resolutions. Another older monitor connects, but say out of input so it cannot accept the resolution output of the N8, even though I have it as low as it goes. Now, if I could get it lower without rooting.

Dex works even on my old ancient monitor which isn't even fHD
