How to open camera using power button in Android 6.0.1

The Android Marshmellow version brought few features silently along with it. One such feature is that user could open the camera by simply double tapping the power button. It works even if the device is locked.

It does not work on my LG G4, but my lock screen has always had a camera button, Android 5 & 6.

You should be able to hold volume down as well. That should open the camera from a powered off state.

On the S7 double tapping the home button opens the camera application. Even when phone is locked.
