How to play non Android Auto music on my car radio

I have a Note 4. When I use bluetooth on my car radio (Panasonic AVIC 8100NEX) it plays fine.
When I use Android Auto I can not see the music that resides on my phone.
My question is How can I resolve this challenge so I can play the music that is on my phone?

I loaded something called MD Player, which reads the music on my phone, and is recognized by AA. Tried it for the first time this weekend.

I would suggest trying JetAudio. It's AA compatible It has an equalizer but when using with AA you must adjust it before connecting to the car.
