Android Central Question

Dear Gents,

I have lot of apps installed on my Android at Samsung S7. User interface is sometimes slow (for instance typing to Google maps is slow). I found many apps are running on background. I do know under developer mode is possible to kill most of apps but problem is once I reboot my phone the apps are restarted again and eating CPU and memory. I do not want root Android or use 3rd party app solution. I guess there is some property in app installation package which saying that app should be auto-running. Is possible to tweak somehow such annoying app capabilities? Many thanks, regards Andy

Don't worry about this. Android handles RAM very efficiently and app-killers are not recommended. Windows, on the other hand, does not use RAM efficiently which has led to the mantra that low RAM usage is important. In Android, it's not an issue

Not that it's not an issue, in Android, unused RAM is wasted RAM. Apps that are running in space the OS needs don't get swapped to disk, wasting time, they just get killed. (All android apps have to keep their current state at all times, so when they're reloaded after having been killed, they can pick up where they left off.) Some apps you run depend on other apps running, so while you don't think they need to be running, Android thinks they do. (There are no .dll files in Android - some apps depend on processes in other apps.)
