How to put on Edge only?

Has anyone figured out a program or way to put the Inspire on Edge only to save battery life?

Where i work is right on the edge of the 3g service area and my Insipre spends all day flopping back and forth between the two, causing battery and performance issues.

Would be great to just be able to turn hspa off.

I tried this but it doesn't quite work. I set it to GSM only and it forces the phone to use Edge, but only for about a minute or two. The settings stays as "GSM only" but H+ turns on anyway. Does anything else need to be changed for this to stay?

Even though it comes back to H+ Ive noticed the battery life on my phone improve drastically.

I use the GSM...I have to do more research on the difference to be honest.
