how to read sim card contacts in marshmallow

i am not able to read/ write contacts in sim card in android 6.0.1

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Most phones don't use the SIM card to store contacts any more -- it's either stored to the local Phone account, your Google account or some other account. You might be able to import/export contacts from and to the SIM -- open the Contacts app, tap Menu, then Import/Export, and see if you get that option.
