How to realy, really prolong your battery life.

link? As far as I know there are no third battery that will fix in the N5... The thread that was open couple of days ago stated that one company is selling a "Nexus 5" battery but its actually a G2 battery and that battery will not fix inside of the N5

All I am saying is all this don't charge the battery more then 85% or less than 15% to extend the life of you Nexus 5 battery lifetime is a waste of time to me. Use your phone since most people will have a new phone in two years anyway. If your Nexus 5 battery gets weak then in 5 minutes you can pop off the back and replace your old N5 battery with a Original BL-T9 battery that is less than $17.

I am just keeping it real for Clevin that is a Samsung fan that hates Google and Nexus that likes to harp of facts about the Nexus 5. The N5 isn't as simple as replacing a battery as his Samsung Note 3 battery but anyone should be able to do it since it is that simple. I'm not worried about charging my Nexus 5 up to 100% since when my battery gets weak I will pop it out and fix it in under 5 minutes. It's simple to replace a Nexus 5 battery and there will be lots of places that will do it professionally if you don't want to take the chance. There is a store that will replace cell phone batteries professionally less than a mile from my home that sells new batteries and will install them for a charge.

Here is a link for a Original BL-T9 that comes in the Nexus 5.

With the Franco kernel and ART enabled on the stock ROM I had 2 hours of screen time with 14 hours of battery and I still had 49% left.

You just stalking me, which is fine by me. Keep writing meaningless things in this wonderful thread to "keep Clevin real" lol.

Ps, Good luck replacing your own battery! Do come back and share after you have done one!

I plan on taking it to a local shop after my one year warranty expires. They can replace it for me.

That's fine, do share your experience afterwards. I bet people would want to know.

Btw, you don't really need to do it after a year, just whenever you feel it's losing significant capacity. And if you decide to follow the tips I provided, it may not need replacement in 2-3 years, at which time, you may just get a new phone already :)

Plans can change :-). But in my experience in the tech world I have noticed a year is the magical number where devices begin to really show their aged batteries. My SII's battery life started plummeting after a year. I plan on updating everyone here when and if I do have it done.

100% Original Battery For LG Nexus 5 D820 D821 BL-T9

Sorry read your post wrong, I was thinking about that 3000mAh battery. I dont know but this is weird, When i charge my phone till 100% right when I hit 100 I would unplug it and start using it. Battery life is pretty good but not great. But there are times when I leave it charged after hitting 100% (two or 3 hours later) and I get great battery life. Like today left it plugged in all night...Unplugged it and started using it. 30 mins of music and the rest texting and surfing the net. After 10% I got 1hour 14 mins of SOT. This is the best I got so far. Cant believe I hit 1h 14m with only using just 10%. Normally I get about 40mins from 100-90% My best SOT was 7 hours 14 mins. Using the same method.

I don't know about waste of time, necessarily, but I do know I have better things to do with my time than watch my battery like a hawk.

I run my handset or tablet until I'm done with it for the day, I put them on their chargers, and I go to bed.

Recently it happened that my handset's discharge rate appeared to be about double what it usually is, for no apparent reason. That told me the device had mis-learned the battery's capacity. So I ran it all the way down, charged it all the way back up, and it was back to normal.

Words of wisdom.
So either play around with the toggles all day or barely use it LOL. May work for some but I don't have time or care to keep worrying about which radios are enabled nor will I turn off all notifications. These phones are designed to keep us connected so I prefer to be in the know. And "put it down". Yeah that's not likely.... spend money for a device to not use it. No thank you. There are tweaks to get extra battery life which are discussed in nearly every phone sub-forum to exhaustion. They are the same. Whether it's the HTC One, SGS4, LG G2, the basic battery tweaks are all the same. Sure rooting isn't everyone's "cup of tea" but for many Nexus users, rooting is a given and offering a far superior option than all the manual tweaks for those users. And conditioning the battery..... hogwash!
