Android Central Question

We need to implement a specific application on a number of devices in a few different countries, and we cannot rely on the tech savvy of the people on site to be able to do installations as necessary. Preferably doing the install remotely.

It is necessary to install the application on all of the devices as quickly as possible and with as little effort as possible. All of the devices should be the same make and model running Android 9.0.

Once the app is installed the devices should be locked so that they can only be used to run the particular app, and connect to wifi or a mobile network.

Can someone please give me an idea of what the easiest way will be to achieve this?

While I'm sure you will get some advice around here, for the most part the questions answered here are about personal use devices. On top of that you are asking in the general Ask A Question area where general advice is given. I'm going to be honest with you Apple may be better for this type of lockdown, single purpose, single manager type use.

For forcing the app installation you'd probably be looking at an MDM solution as used in many corporations. You might also be able to use that solution to force the device to only use the one app.

MobileIron and AirWatch are two popular or common of those solutions.

Yeah when I went Googling I came across that MDM, but for some reason it seemed overly complicated. Maybe something like this has to be. IDK. I'm just always amazed when bombshell questions like this are dropped and then the OP doesn't register or reply.

The clients don't have the devices yet so nothing is set up on them yet. We can potentially ask them to load teamviewer so as to have remote access but we are talking about thousands of devices most likely.

I have been looking into various MDMs such as MobileIron but the cost is just too high.
