How to reset tablet locked by find my device

How do I hard reset my tablet locked by find my device password which I have forgotten

You can go to recovery mode by shutting down, then holding power, home and volume+ at the same time. There should be option to reset.

If you used find my device to lock and/or change the password you should be able to do it again and change it to something that you can use right away. Also find me offers the option to wipe the device which is like factory resetting it. I believe tabs would be like phones and any wipe performed from anywhere that's not the settings menu, will require your Google account information to restore it.

Google's Find My Device can only remotely lock a device with the screen lock that was already set -- you can't change the password remotely. If the device didn't have a screen lock set to begin with, then you can use Find My Device to create a password to lock it with.

Bottom line is that you're probably stuck if you can't remember password. If it's a Samsung device, you might be able to remotely change the password using Samsung's Find My Mobile: https://findmymobile.samsung.com/
