[HOW TO] Return to Stock for Froyo Update

I have returned to stock, but it won't go back further than 2.1. What does this mean, HOW can I get it to FULLY restore? I've tried formatting the SD Card, to no avail. Does somebody have a link or STEP BY STEP instructions?

Currently Stock is 2.2 Froyo. Why do you need to go back any further?

Here's the issue, it does not refresh the programs - i.e. City ID says, program is expired. Not allowing a true refresh of ALL programs. If this cannot be fixed, no worries. I was just hoping I could TRULY set it back to FACTORY conditions.

To go back to 100% stock, meaning the first build form when it was release, use this LINK and it has ALL the instructions and files to download.

This is what I've used, to NO AVAIL. it takes me back ONLY to 2.1. Which is why I thought there are some files that have not been erased. I've formatted the SD card, used various progs to TRY to ensure all has been erased... Again, to NO AVAIL. So at this point, I would either have to get a new phone and start all over again or settle for the current ROOT condition after purchasing Titanium Back Up Pro. My phone does everything I want it to do, but I'm just a person that likes to know WHY something doesn't work, and can't be still until I know why.

I do appreciate your replies, however these are steps I've already followed that bring me to a stalemate.

There is no need to go all the way back to DI01. That was only in preparation to receive the OTA to stock Froyo which was ED01 or ED03. Current stock build is ED05 and is available to flash through ODIN:

My Fascinate is bricked after the Gingerbread update and the computer won't recognize it because USB Debugging isn't turned on. Thing is, I can't turn it on now. Any suggestions? I'm one step away from fixing it :'(

I would try pulling the battery and putting the phone into download mode and flashing a stock EH03 build with odin

So im trying to get my phone (Samsung Fascinate) back to factory settings, but i cant find the DI01 Stock Image file ANYWHERE. Does anyone know where i can get it? or any other way i can get my phone back to regular verizon settings? I dont want it rooted or anything anymore.

Try searching for threads on stock EH03 that's the latest official gingerbread update from Verizon. I think I got mine over at rootzwiki but it's been a while
