How to revert the Huawei HiSearch swipe down back to Google?

Recently my Huawei P20 Pro forced an annoying EMUI 9.0 update that changes many interfaces, most notable the 'swipe down anywhere on the screen' search is replaced with Huawei's own HiSearch. Desperate, I found this link how to remove it

It successfully removed, but now my swipe down function is missing completely. How can I revert it back?

There's also this EMUI 8.0 downgrade which looks suspicious:

Lastly, the top swipe down quick settings color scheme was also changed in the update, is there a way to customize it?

The system function you removed was the only way it will work until you either find a way of replacing it with another.

Emui 9.0 does offer the ability to roll back but be aware that your data will be erased so make a back up.
