Hi

would you be able to provide advice about how i go about rooting a android smart tv box running 4.2.2.

It is so i can use the skygo app. Each time i use the skygo app it states it cannot be used on root a device.

Probably not. You need to know the exact brand and model number, and see if anyone has come up with a root exploit for that particular device. Considering that these devices are usually generic no-name items direct from China, you'd be hard pressed to find that information.
