How to root NC 1.2?

I used those instructions to root mine also. It took me longer than 5 mins though ;-)

@mkramer5004, how do you have netflix running? It seems my problem is that Auto Nooter installed Flash 10.1 and it isn't compatible with the latest Netflix. But for whatever reason I can't uninstall Flash to be able to install the latest. When I'm in manage applications uninstall doesn't work?

[HOW-TO] Return Your Nook Color to 1.1.0 Stock and re-root
I used this to try to root my nook 1.2 and I did it wrong. The nook boot up but it doesn't see a Software version "Unavailable". Also the nook color screen keep flashing with an error message that reads "Initial loading from Media Provider failed.Additional information:no such colum: thumbnail_url:. while compiling: Select_id.thumbnail_url. Cover image_url, ean, title author, lending state, is lendable etc" and the keyboard don't work either. Available storage in nook 0.00B free of 0.00b. Is there a way to get this back to the original state? Any help I would appreciate.

@puchdog are you trying to upgraded a NC 1.1 to 1.2 or root a NC that came stock with 1.2?

I was trying to root a nook color that came stock with 1.2. In the root section of the nook color I didn't see that 1.2 could be rooted with out having to downgrade to 1.0.2.

I used the steps in here [HOW-TO] Return Your Nook Color to 1.1.0 Stock and re-root

That guide will be perfect but the problem is right know the nook don;t display software version, Also when i plug the nook to the computer it doesn't pick up the nook or the sd card. So i can't put the 1.2 update in the nook to work. Unless I'm missing some drivers. I just hope I don't have to return this back to barnes and noble.

If it isn't too hosed there are steps to reset it. Something like powering off the thing 8 times in succession. Google for that. Gotta go for now...

I editted the prop file to HTC Vision and rebooted then went into manage apps and cleared data then cache. And it worked. I used this method - http://forum.androidcentral.com/barnes-noble-nook-color/93655-netflix-nc-mn-4-5-18-a.html

I am interested in the file used to overclock to 1.1Ghz. Which file are you using?
I overclocked my 1.0.1. Same file? or did you use Setcpu?
Thanks.

No not bricked. As Jackchaos said you can do the interupted boot 8 times to reset. Check out this guide - [UPDATE ZIP] Stock 1.2 update.zip flashable from CWM - xda-developers

Hope this helps

It is impossible to brick it. I've screwed up so many times, it's ridiculous. Because it loads from the sd card first, if you ever seriously think you screwed it up, you can flash a clockwork recovery image on an sd card, get the zip file for stock rom 1.1 and then you can restore it to fresh out of the box 1.1. I keep an sd card with clockwork and 1.1 for this very reason. You can then use the upgrade to 1.2 and then use the manual nooter method to root.

Currently I'm happy with phiremod.....although I am an avid Android fan, my wifes Ipad 2 she got from work is making me like my nook color less and less. Pains me to enjoy the ipad, but tethering it too my Dinc while in Disney last week was awesome.......minus flash of course.
