Hay! I'm trying to root from a mac and can only find instructions to root from a mac for optimus s. Which seem pretty similar to these instructions except for a few things. No superclick, (i guess cause its a windows program but...) and there is a third file in the root.zip file for the s. (rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin) I am guessing on a mac i can deal without the superclick but what about the arm5.bin? what do I do different from these instructions exactly to root my v from a mac?

I can confirm that the Gingerbreak v1.2 method works on the Optimus V.

Root and unroot worked for me on my stock Optimus V. I did have to put my original 2GB SD card back in the phone for it to work though, with my 8GB card it did not work. Others have posted about similar issues with some SD cards.
