[How-To] Root your G2X

I don't think I am making myself clear. You stated it downloaded OK. Now forget the computer. Put the battery in the phone. Hold the Volume Down key and the Power button til it boots to the Second LG boot Logo. You WILL NOT see the S/W screen, it should boot into CWM, looks kind of like a DOS window. It should look like the attached image.

OK so it would be OK to continue to the next step of rebooting the phone as you described above? Because yes on my computer screen it says "bootloader downloaded successfully" and i don't get the S/W upgrade screen on my phone, and i have a black screen while this is happening. I also dont see the "S/W Upgrade - Please wait while upgrading...".

Oh ok ok i got it sorry man i did what you said just reboot my phone and when i did it showed the CWM ready on my phone :). I was just concerned that it didn't show the S/W upgrade screen but yes i got it now thanks a lot man. Ill let you know if there are any more problems I have.

Have you followed the steps in this tread? Did you install all the drivers needed?

I was completely new to the rooting process, so I researched it thoroughly and used the videos found here:
Two Too Many Hobbies - YouTube

They are great, and the owner provides a step by step process that is easy to understand.
HIGHLY recommend!
