Mkay, this is beginning to hack me off. Got some wallpapers off the net, yadda, yadda. They look great in the gallery, BUT when I go to set them as a wallpaper, the Evo wants to crop it. I want to use the whole image. How do I do it?

I've tried the search function but it turned up stuff on apps. A little newbie help here please.....

Also here is where I got the wallpapers from if that makes any difference.
HTC EVO 4G wallpapers | Free downloads on Zedge

Same here...i have supper nice pic of Corvette ZR1 from when my wife bought her new car....can someone advise please. God will bless you with many wives in heaven =)

You are using the green box to resize it as much as possible, right? The only other thing I can think of is that the original picture size needs modifying.

I think the res is 960x800, anything bigger I tried I was unable to stretched out the whole image. Too small it looked blurry.

Really ugh...i did that. What i have seen is that it uses all 5 homescreens for the picture. So when i scroll to the left the i get to see the rest of the picture i choose. For example on the car the main homescreen which is #3 it show almost the middle of the car then if i scroll to the left than i start seeing some of the hood and eventually the at homescreen 1 i get to see the front of the car. I wanted the whole picture in one screen..i dont mind it being the same on the rest of the homescreens.

Maybe eliminating some homescreens form 5 to 3 may help. I dont know if thats even possible. I am too new to Android. I guess i need more info.

This is what i get. The one with the hood is homescreen 1. I did mess with the resolution to try it to get it work but nothing i get the same thing.

You mean like a fixed background where the screen won't move it? If so I have not found a way to do that nor change the shape of the box when it comes to setting it. I would like to know as well if someone here knows :)

The only way to keep your car picture in the middle of the home screen is to take a 800h x 480w picture and add to the canvas size to bring it up to 800h x 960w. It would still shift off the screen when you go side to side. Or you could find a picture where the whole car fits into the center 480 pixels of the 960 pixel wide image.

I don't know how the standard Android screens work but HTC Sense has this feature of shifting the wallpaper. Some people like it, some don't.

You can't change the proportions of the box, only the location and the size. Drag in the middle of the frame to move it around. Drag on the frame itself to resize it.

if anyone can do it for me this one time...i want to see what exactly the size is and see if you get the same thing i do

i used Photo elements this time instead of the Preview thats in my Mac...if you guys want copy here it is..i havent tried it yet

There isn't enough space around the car to get the whole car to show up on the main screen without adding a border to the picture. Attached are two versions, one with the image cropped down that will cause the car to go across all 7 screens and one cropped to show the car on the main screen but with a black border that will show up.

Here's what they would look like on the phone.

I guess i was doing something wrong then. But it sucks that if i take a picture with the camera on the phone that it will do that.

I saw the res on the picture you posted and it shows 100x83?
