How to simplify the UPDATE process?

Android tells me that there are 14 app updates available.

Going through one at a time is a painful and time-consuming process. Is there a way to give permissions so updates occur more automatically?

AppBrain will save you a few screen taps, but it's not fully automatic.

that feature is apparently in Froyo, which the Eris will most likely not get. So yeah AppBrain is probably your best bet.
