How to slow Mobile Services Manager Down

I have a Note 4. The Mobile Services Manager seems to be draining my battery. I understand why the phone has an MSM (AKA DtIgnite). However it seems to be polling way too often for a lazy program update app. It polls several times per minute. Anyone know how to make it poll, say, once every 5 minutes (and sleep in between?)

I suggest that you read this page and disable DTIgnite completely. As for the MSM polling in your SMS app, there should be a setting of "Never", which is what you should be using. That's push - if there's something for you, it gets pushed to your phone - no polling.
