How to stop Google maps PiP

I'm so frustrated by this feature. I have been searching a great deal for a solution but the instructions I find don't match the settings menu on my phone. I have a Galaxy S7 running Android 8.0. Everyone keeps showing screenshots of setting in the menu called apps and notifications. My phone does not have that it has an apps tab and a separate notifications tab I have looked in both I have also use the search feature to no avail. I just want to be able to hit the home button or switch to a different app without that stupid picture-in-picture window blocking what I'm trying to do.

On my Note 9 running 8.1, you can go into the Apps settings, select Maps and in the Advanced option, there is a Picture-in-Picture setting which you can turn off.

If you select Maps, do you not see that setting?

I see it on my S7 running Oreo (8.0).
