How to stop the random reboots?

See post 16

Next theory please. I followed that cache flush procedure without a hitch.... And the reboots came back this morning at around 10 am, rebooting pretty much every 60 minutes.

Quick question... Who, among those having this problem, uses SwiftKey on the N10?

Last resort then- factory wipe. It could be your system is just corrupt somehow. After, do not install any apps for a while and use as-is. If you still have problems, then it is a hardware failure. If not, then introduce new apps slowly and test after each.... if the problem then returns, it is app related, uninstall and do not use that somehow majorly defective/problematic app.

Well. So much for 4.4.4. Mine died overnight sometime. It shouldn't have. I had over 50% battery left. I've had it on the charger for an hour and it still won't boot.

Did a reset and still reboots, most of the time when I wake it up.

I have to say it does do it a little less frequently for me. And sometimes it'll freeze and not reboot, yet will require one to come back alive.

Maybe you should re-read post 24 before referring me to 22. Nowhere have you said you have restored to factory defaults.

And perhaps you should read #22, especially the opening. I even went back and fixed my typo for you.

And honestly? Continual replies referring me back to your same post are arrogant, unhelpful, and a waste of both forum resources and the time of other readers. I don't need traffic direction.

I first suggested a cache clear in post 16, which you said you did and it did not fix your issue. I then suggested you restore to factory defaults in post 24. And your effective response, three times now, is that you already performed a cache wipe, and that is not at all the same thing. So, I must refer you, yet again, to post #24 as a suggested course of action.

Unhelpfulness would have been to just ignore your issues alltogether.
Wasting forum resources would be to see more of your postings complaining it is still broken or asking if others have the same problem if what I suggested helps to solve the issue (which it might).
Arrogance is insulting and incorrectly "correcting" and calling someone unhelpful who was trying to help you.
Wasting time is my having to suggest, again, that you try what is contained in post 24.

Why are you asking about SwiftKey? I have a theory that the reboot issue is related to SwiftKey

I'm not going to debate with what "unhelpfulness" is. Please take your wisdom and pointers to previous posts on to a forum reader who's got time for your games.

Hi roadrat.... For exactly that reason. I think there may be a huge resource drain happening on this device with SwiftKey, and the device's response to such a thing is to reboot. What are your thoughts?

Crxssi has helped many many people so giving him a hard time about how he is helping you is a bit ridiculous. Also his suggestion about doing a factory reset is very relevant.

What you seem to forget is this thread was started when Android 4.2.0 was the installed OS and then it was immediately upgraded to 4.2.1 after being removed from the box. Android 4.2.2 fixed pretty much all the stability problems with reboots. Prior to 4.2.2 it was found that the reboots were related to google location services.

If you are experiencing reboots now it is likely a software app you loaded.

1. Disable location services.
2. Do a factory reset
3. Restore a factory image from Googles Web site.
