sorry if this should be in a different forum section, but if anyone has a quick answer would be great. What is the best way to get your phone to stream music thru car speakers. (no bluetooth and fm transmitters do not work well, dash could be too thick). Is there anyway to add bluetooth or any other way? thanks

aux jack works best.

also, if your car has a usb port and can read mass storage devices, you might be able to do it that way too. the advantage being you could control play/next/pause with the HU.

it all depends on what you have in your car

I found some make/model specifics for you:

Range Rover Bluetooth Installation instructions

Range Rover iPod, iPhone, aux, audio connection kit

The second looks most interesting. I'd check that option out to see if it works with your application. I wouldn't be crazy about the toggle switch, though. I'd check to see if there are cheaper options. I added something for my factory stereo on my Trailblazer for much less (similar/yet different process than this). It was around $120 and I can add both a regular MP3 or Ipod (2 inputs).

Depends on what you mean by "best". Sound quality wise in descending order IMO:

Aux
Bluetooth
Wired FM modulator
Cassette adapter
Wireless FM transmitter

I'd replace the head unit before using either of the last 2 options but, again, your priorities may differ from mine.

If quality isn't your only concern then the list may take on a completely different order for you. USB is only relevant if you want to listen to music on your SD card. Several aftermarket companies make aux adapters for factory car stereos. You'd have to check their application guides (usually on their sites) to see if any of them work with your make/model. DICE, Blitzsafe, Peripheral Electronics, and USA Spec are just a few companies that I can think of off the top of my head.

Ok, easiest, cheapest, and most efficient way. Ha

If you are using a HTC phone which cable do you get for the aux?

USB to 3.5mm plug?

Or do you use 3.5mm to 3.5mm?

the most simple way imo is one of the blue tooth converters. i know jabra, blue ant and motorola have them. the only one i have experince with is the jabra cruiser model, alot of my friends have one and the music sounds pretty good for the way its transfered over from blue tooth to fm modulation.
