How to sync dekstop MS Outlook (gmail) to S III?

This topic may have already been covered... When I delete emails on the deskto MS Outlook gmail account, the emails are not deleted from my SIII gmail. The account settings on SIII show sync on. Maybe there needs to be a specific setting turned on in MS Office or perhaps gmail....
