How to tell if my Droid 2 is unlocked

I plan on taking my D2 overseas and was given a code to unlock the GSM , but how can I test it before I go to the UK ? Is this something I had to wait till I get there there and power on the network, I am sure the GSM is blocked here .

Surprised no one was able to help, the sim card company sent me the settings to be added to the APN now I have a network , now my problem is getting it on a WiFi network anyone willing offer help on this.

Being unlocked should not effect the wifi I have a d2 non global without any service and I still connect it to wifi. What problems are you having with wifi

no problems
once I got past google log in , I couldn't get to the setting page till I got past the log in.
Its all good now.
