Just got the G4 last night and I bought a quick charger 2.0, but just wondering if there is a way to know that it is fast charging. Should it say so on the screen? I remember my buddy's Gflex 2 saying it, but mine doesn't.
So it doesn't support 2.0? I saw an article that said it did which is why I got the G4 over the S6. I guess I could always get a spare battery though.
It does use qc 2.0, just not to the same level as other phones currently on the market. Even those phones aren't charging to the maximum qc 2.0 speed allowed. Qc 2.0 doesn't require a minimum charging level.LG's implementation of QC 2.0 just doesn't match Qualcomm's spec.
Looks like LG throttled it down due to heat in order to protect the battery.
The phone charges reasonably fast. I charged earlier from 2% to 42% in 34 minutes. That's about 1.17%/min while Qualcomm lists the spec at 2%/min.
The question is can or will LG tweak it to allow a faster charge with a software update. I guess we will see.

Yep, they are hiding behind the fine print and using it as a marketing ploy. Qualcomm should say here is the spec that we use and if you are going to implement it differently on your phone, you need to do your own lab test, with that phone, and state the spec that you will be implementing.
The Marshmallow update now tells you if your phone is "fast charging".
