OK went through the Root with the 2gb card that came with it and also the video. Everything lined up fine. Rebooted and I see Superuser. I can't use AdFree. When i try and download and install hosts i get the error "Failed to replace your hosts file. Error message:"

Also when trying to removed CityID i get the error "rm failed for /system/app/CityID.apk, Directory not empty"

To me it seems its not rooted. Is there any way to verify?

NAND is locked on the Incredible even with root. It is only unlocked long enough to flash a custom recovery. You need to push that host file during recovery mode. You can tell if you are rooted correctly very easy......

Boot up your phone, open cmd prompt. Type in adb shell hit enter. When it comes up type in SU and see if the prompt changes to a "#" symbol. If it does you have root.

How do you push it during recovery mode?
